I built a P-51D last year for another teacher to give to her father for Father's Day (he was a mechanic for them on Iwo Jima in WW2). Another teacher has a son who flies the AC-130H for the Air Force who wished for me to build one of these birds as a present for her husband. I just finished it for her this week and took it to school so she could give it to him for Christmas.

Her son was a great help and I modified the plane per his guidance (no more gatlings in the front) added the bits to the front and the back to make it current. The bird I chose to model was "Wicked Wanda" and, as luck would have it, he just took her up for a flight this week (he is a pilot) and has flown it a number of times. That really made me happy that there is a connection to this specific aircraft.

Thank you! The first non-WW2 plane I have built since I was a teen.

When I was a kid I used to spend a fortune on those Warhammer figurines. Fuck me were they expensive! It was like ?120 just for the box of all the paints, ?1.50 a pot! And now they are all in a box broken hahah what a waste

I helped my son with some of those things. I airbrushed a space marine walker and did the drybrushing for him. I have a few pots of Citadel paint around the work table as well. My current project is a 1/48th FW 190-A8/R2 Sturmbock. Been working on it for days and still on the interior.
