Acer's already rolled out a few 3D-capable monitors (among other products), but none quite like it's new GN245HQ model, which the company notes is the "first 3D monitor in the world" to support NVIDIA's HDMI 3D solution. That means you'll be able to view 3D content from a connected set-top box or Blu-ray player in addition to a PC connected via DVI-DL, and do so with the included active shutter glasses that work in conjunction with the monitor's built-in IR emitter.

As for the monitor itself, you'll get the usual 1920 x 1080 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, along with a 2ms response time, a pair of built-in 2W speakers, and LED backlighting that uses two lamps instead of four for a promised 68% savings in power consumption. No official word on a US release just yet, but you can look for this one to hit the UK in mid-March for £419.99 (or about $675).

Yeah it's nice, but good luck getting one in the US. It's only sold, like Viewsonic's new 3d monitors, in the EU.

Well damn Six thanks for ruining it for me. LOL. When I get my return back I'm thinking of getting a new monitor. My current Viewsonic is starting to have issues with darker colors.

Didn't mean to shit in your cheerios, but I saw this monitor announced in Oct. of last year and wanted to get one only to find out it's only being sold in the EU. There was one online retailer in the us that had the monitor listed, but it no longer is and I think they never had any actual stock of this item anyway.

Look at it this way-it's like a unicorn or some other mythical beast. You hear legends and stories about them and they seem wonderful and fantastic until reality crashes down on your head and you realize it's all bullshit; there never was nor will be any such thing. But it's still nice to believe once in a while.

Just to further confuse things, in the UK they use the new model number GN245HQ for the first generation of the 24" 120hz monitor which we have labeled, in the US, as Gd235HZ.

But, if you're heart's really set on that model number, misco.co.uk has that monitor for $416.00 before shipping to the states...http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=443662&CatId=3057

Or you could do what I did and settle for the first generation for $349 at newegg: Newegg.com - Acer GD235HZbid Black/orange 23.6" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen 1080p 120Hz NVIDIA 3D LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 80000:1
