Well if you want name brand it would probably cost 10 bucks here but you can get really crappy packs of 10 for a dollar. Not bad for remotes but terrible for anything that draws constant like a clock or alot of juice... like anything that really uses AA batteries.

Do you guys have an Ikea? The Ikea batteries in the US are exactly the same as the dollar store junk. The weight of a battery really tells you something about its core density.
