I hate to once again remind fanboys that the current AMD is run by its marketing department has absolutely NO RELATION to the AMD that brought out the Athlon except for its patent portfolio.
AMD tried to 1 up hyperthreading by banking on the idea that FPU operations should be run on the GPU. It was a great idea except for that it was about 10 years too early. What that makes is a CPU that is deficient and over advertised. It's running the software we have now not the software we will one day run. Also considering AMD where the ones to bring us higher IPC why they would make a CPU with shared front end decoders is beyond me.
