Lately (3 days ago) tbgclan.com has become slow as FUCK loading some pages for me. It takes like a minute to load the front page for example.

I'm just wondering what the fuck it is. I moved today and it's not the ISP because I was using a different ISP before and same effect.

Anyone using Kaspersky AV (version 9, the latest beta) + Firefox 3.5 (latest version)?

I'm wondering if this combination is the problem or wtf.

I also use "Ad Muncher" (awesomely awesome uberawesome filtering software) which filters at kernel/driver level so that might be a culprit as well.

I just want to see if this is happening to anyone else with the latest firefox / xp / kaspersky 9 before starting to uninstall/reinstall them one by one...

Edit: It's not the browser. Exact same effect with IE8...

kaspersky is good. I would suggest avira anti virus they have a free version or you can download the full version via torrents.

Avira is great. It can be a bit of a hassle at times due to it's extremely high detection rate (99.3%). They are both good, but I would highly recommend Avira.

Do you use a strong firewall HeatSurge? That could be why.

Thx, but I'm not looking for AV recommendations... I use avira on my laptop and know it very well (free av of choice really...).

I'm just wondering why the website loads so slow, that's all.

I have like no firewall... it's turned off. At router level, it's the standard firewall. I really doubt it's the firewall because again I switched routers / ISP's and it's still the exact same problem. It looks like it might be either Kasperksy or AdMuncher...

I might uninstall either and see if it makes a difference.

This is proally the problem also check your popup blocker.
Have you checked what programs are running in the background? msconfig or ctrlaltdel
One thing also your cash can get loaded up and it has to access more ram/info from the HD try running a defrag or disk cleanup other then that i use firefox and kapesrky no probls here.. normally boot up with 4 or so pages saved could be settings some where thou how many background ops u running?

oh and do you get alot of trojan pop ups? u might need to change the ammount of time that it blocks em under settings then again i am not a comp wiz but i try heh

you said you moved? I would thats it.

Try disabling kaspersky completely see if that improves. Then you thats the problem.

I used to have kaspersky never really had an issue with websites.

Hm...

I disabled Ad Muncher and Kasperksy's web filtering and everything started working perfectly. Then I enabled them and everything is still working perfectly.

I think it was probably Kaspersky... it's still in beta (I'm using version 9 aka "2010") so maybe it glitched with one of the updates on the webfilter.

Anyway it's all back to normal now (knock on wood).

I'm using Kaspersky AV with Win7 and Firefox 3.5 and don't have any problems with speed of anything loading. I wonder if it wasn't just the combination of the Ad muncher and Kaspersky AV.

should i run a firewall with avira installed?? and if so which would be a good one?

If anything, use COMODO. It's a completely free firewall.

BTW my problems were caused by Kaspersky. Additionally, it made my computer quite a bit more laggy than Avira does (and F-Prot did when I used it instead).

I'm not sure if it was the combination of Ad Muncher and Kaspersky, but the lag was bad, so I uninstalled it and never looked back.

It might have been also that I was using an experimental (semi-secret) beta of Kaspersky 9 (2010). It takes a search to find it on the international Kaspersky site, because perhaps due to its beta status it is not even listed on the US site right now. As I found out, maybe there's a reason for that.

BTW this all happened on XP SP3 32-bit (in case anyone cares).

Anyway I'm back to Avira and everything is fast & smooth (like a penis kind of, but they're not really that smooth I guess).
