Survey says AT&T drops more calls than Verizon, these bar charts don't lie

Wondering which carrier you should buy your iPhone on? There's a survey for that. ChangeWave Research has released the results of a poll that hit 4,068 users distributed across Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. Among those four, VZW came out ahead when it comes to dropped calls, with 1.4 percent of respondents indicating they'd received one in the past three months. AT&T, meanwhile, came in last with 4.6 percent. If you look only at the iPhone 4 users the numbers change a little, 1.8 percent vs. 4.8, but the conclusion stays the same. No, this conclusion sadly will not get you around your ETF, but maybe making a pouty face at the AT&T store will help.

Update: AT&T let us know it has some doubts about these results. We're not statisticians but we will, out of fairness, link over to this GWS survey from last year that showed 98.59 percent success rate for non-dropped calls. How do your numbers compare?

I have T-mobile and have been very happy until I heard AT&T is buying them

This is something that hasnt changed in 10 year though AT&T has always had more dropped calls than verizon as best as i remember it. I believe this held true prior to AT&T using GSM when they were still on TDMA which if i am remembering correctly... is actually horribly funny.

I have had in the following order AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint not including TracFone in there. My AT&T versus VZ experience started when my father had both.

I currently have sprint for my work phone, At&t for my work handheld device, and verizon for personal phone. as far as my area of connecticut Sprint sucks i get dropped calls 9 times out of 10, verizon and at&t are comparable. i get good reception with verizon in places that i get nothing with at&t and vice versa. ive had verizon for 7 years now and wouldnt even think of changing to any other carrier. pricing is fair, service area is great, and i prefer the droid over the IPhone, even though that doesnt matter anymore. :D

I have been with ATT for five years now I just recently started getting dropped calls after i got the iphone. I dont mind ATT but I wouold switch when my contract is up.
