Sorry to necro this thread but I received an email about the beta opening again in February:

Our aim is to bring the beta back up some time this February. Stay tuned to the Heroes site for the exact date!

The whole game was kind of scheduled for last fall... closed beta FTL...

It's gonna suck anyway so who cares.
