all day long...the same problem.....all of a sudden I cant get the game to stay stable for more than 10 mins...tried repair Install...new drivers for video...new sound drivers...had 3 BSOD.....very very frustrating....and the game was SOLID before this...why all of a sudden it's doing this is a total mystery....any suggestions that i've missed?....Ive even done a video stress test.....passed....reinstalled Origin and verified....help......eeeeks!!!!!

Try this:

FREEZE, BLACK SCREEN, CRASH TO DESKTOP FIX:

Windows 7/Windows Vista
* In Windows 7/Vista go to Start menu. Go to Accessories. Locate the command prompt shortcut and hover mouse over it. Right Click on the shortcut then select Run as Administrator.
* In the command prompt type this exactly:

bcdedit /set increaseuserva 2500

Then hit enter.
* Make sure you get a message back confirming the change was made. To verify the entry is there you can type just bcdedit, hit enter, and you should see the entry now listed.
* Then close the command prompt. You just told Vista to increase user virtual address (userva) space to 2500MB.
* Changes take effect on reboot.
Now reboot the PC because Windows needs to set the userva at 2500 which only happens after startup.

If you skip any step it will not work. When you have rebooted you should be good to go. Run the game as normal with the original game shortcut.

TO UNDO THE CHANGES
Open command prompt as administrator and type: bcdedit /deletevalue increaseuserva. That deletes the entry.
Reboot and you are back to normal.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!From Richieguy10: if 2500 doesnt work for you, up it to 3072 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It worked for me, now I can play better than I did before the patch.

ooooo coolness...thanks so much.....the game ran perfectly before yesterday so that's what is so odd about this happening all of a sudden.I'll give this a try...once again thanks!!

BF3 Sid...actually what happened is wierd...I use Microsoft Security Essentials for a Virus proggy...it's free...and usually pretty dependable and it utilizes Real-time Protection...you can update the definitions 2 ways...thru the program itself...or...on Windows Update...what happened was my Windows Update became corrupted somehow thus causing MSE to not update properly causing the real-time Protection to screw up.One thing I do love about Win7 is all the neat stuff it does and ADMIN info it provides....so after doing a little searching the Control Panel on Win7 has a Performance Information/Tools Icon-proggy and in there it has a utility to repair Windows Update...so thats all I did and voila....it fixed the MSE corrupted issue with the Real-time Protection and the game works fine again.....but that only came about after I had to review the Error Log and see what was causing this in the first place...a pain in the rear...but all it fine now....lol....wierd huh???
