Fuck that; downloading 20gigs-not happening. I preordered from Amazon for the DVD version for $49. $8.00 and I don't have to wait hours to install the game. Thanks, but no thanks.

I originally did this from amazon, but I thought getting it from steam or origins now was a better idea because of automatic updating. I wonder if I can cancel my order with origins?

I love digital downloads; no disk, automatic updates, and install from anywhere. No more worrying about the DVD.

Riddle me this. Retail copy of Saints Row 2. I enter my code into steam, I still have a disc. All of the above now applies.

:p

Its the truth. I used the disc first time and it is a quicker install that way. Havent used it since.

Hours and hours to download, then more time to download "automatic" updates. No thanks. And tell me this, who worries about a fucking disk. You use it to install, put it away and you're done with the thing-downloads are automatic in BF3 from what I've read anyway so your mamsy pamsy argument of automatic updates is null and void.

Bitches.

Hours and hours to download it.

Bitches Im a homo :P.
FUCK U!!!!!! my internet is 256kb/s HERE its going to take weeks and weeks to download it. About that same amount of time it would take to get it mailed here. O well im getting fucked either way.

Lipstick and some Crisco to help cook things up to the right temperature. Oh, don't forget the fishnet stockings and pigtails :)

I'll take a disc which still automatically updates any day. How many times did I have to reinstall 2142? Disc made life much easier not having to download every single time. Even the patches or updates were saveable, don't know if BF3 will be the same.

This happened to Zap. Once you had registered the product I believe you also had the ability to download with EA. Not certain but I do know his disc was destroyed and downloaded even keeping his player name and stats.

If EA allows steam have bf3 then, I will change my mind about going in-store to picking bf3. God, I hope bf3 goes on steam.

*cough*

Battlefield 3 - CD Key Buy (PRE-ORDER)

*cough*

Look around, there might be an EVEN BETTER price.

And btw for those who say "this looks like a shit/scam site..." I bought BC2 1 week after release for a similar price (about $20 if I remember correctly). Activated on EADM(now Origin)... never had any issue (still play). I purchased bc2 from onlinekeystore.com I think, back in the day.

"How can they do this shit?" Keys from Thailand/Egypt/Russia sell at lower prices. Steam tries to restrict them by IP ranges, but people still get around it by VPN (Look for russian keys for Dead Island on Ebay for $26 with Russian VPN key activation instructions - to fake the IP so they can activate - Steam doesn't check anymore once a key is "bound" and a game is "activated" on an account.... so far). EA has (luckily) not restricted any keys so far based on IP...

Then again, there have been issues like steam banning a bunch of Thai keys around the release of TF2 (and subsequently reversing the ban after community outcry!), and other "region-restricted" actions, but I seriously doubt this will happen with Origin and BF3. Honestly, they have enough other issues around battlelog to start banning Thai/Egypt/Russian keys and have a customer service nightmare on their hands.....

P.S. I also bought "Race" (it's a driving sim) from onlinekeystore.com and activated ON STEAM just fine. Have had the game for over a year now, and I can vouch that site is legit. Most of those sites are, they're not looking to scam - they can actually make money because the publishers price their games so cheaply so they are actually bought (instead of pirated) in those "poor" regions (Russia/Thailand/Middle east/etc.)

What if you lose your disc? Then what?

Then you need to be better organized.

Let me ask you, what if your origin download fucks the registry for the game in Windows, then what? I had this happen with EA's downloaded shit before and after spending hours trying to get the shit reinstalled, which it wouldn't do because the download manager kept corrupting the install I gave up and bought a DVD and never had a problem with that and even if I did, just reinstall with the disc and you're golden. Can you say the same about the download bullshit? Wait hours more to download and hope it installs correctly this time or take a few minutes and reinstall from the disc?
I value my time so I'll stick with the disc, and I'm organized enough where I don't lose shit so that's not a concern. Either way, even if I break the disc I can always get another one.
