Finally went and pulled the trigger on some new hardware!
- i7 4790K
-Asus Maximus VII Hero Motherboard
-Corsair H100i cooler
-Corsair CS750M power supply
-16 GB kingston HyperX 2100
-PNY Optima 480 GB SSD
Still rocking the Asus R9 280X Matrix edition for now!
Put it all in a Corsair 760T case! Overclock is coming soon. Wanted to let it run stock for a while and check stability.
This thing is a beast at stock speeds and I fucking LOVE it!

Need to do some more cable management and get rid of the Hardrive cages!
Played a it of BF3 and BF4. Holly shit what a diffrence this makes over my old AMD 1055T setup.

What are you running in your big water cooled unit?
A lot of the same shit you are;
4790K
Maximus Hero VII Z97
EVGA 780 Hydro Copper ...etc.

How does your cpu overclock? I did 4.8 on auto settings but haven't pushed it further. Is that normal for these things or what?

LOL I did the same thing! 4.8 on auto but manualy set volts to 1.30. so far so good! No point in going any further.

Temps stay around 55C under load and 25C at idle.

Turn fans up on the Rad?
4.8 is awesome! I have the hero VI...4.3 is about as stable as I can get without tweaking voltage too much. As my first time goofing with bios/OCing Processor, not sure what is a "safe-max" voltage (if there is one). I know she can take more. running 4770k

Anything under 1.4 should be fine for daily use as long as your cooling can handle it-and no more than 1.65v for memory. On the 4770K I have it would max out at 4.65Ghz @ 1.29v

With the 4790k it went to 4.8ghz at 1.26V which is crazy to me. I'll have to see how much higher I can push it this weekend. With that 420 rad I was getting 45C under load with the GPU at 34C. My max temps didn't seem to change whether the cpu was OC or not...but I do have that big ass radiator.

Sounds like you won the silicone lottery!

remind me never to post a pic of the inside of my case im terrible at cable management. but nice rig you got

Ran prime 95 at 4.8 GHz went away for a bit came back to 95C on cpu. Fucking corsair link is a piece of shit!
I think I'm gonna run my fans off the board and not the pump. It was fine gaming at around 50C But that stress test holy shit!
