Might not be on for a while as my internet bill went up and had to cancel.

At least wont be logging in on my gaming computer but will log on when I am able to find a signal with my laptop somewhere or get new service.

Was paying 25 only for internet and was increased to 70.

Hope i'm not away too long don't want my k-bar to get rusty :)

I owe my provider about 500$ bones and my internet is disconnected...lets see what I can do though.

My provider was Comcast and I was on a promotion which ended. I was month to month and it was only internet no phone and no tv.

No the rat bastards didn't buy me dinner or even offer a reach around they told me once the promotions end they can;t be re instated.

They did say they could decrease my speeds and give me crap internet for 49/mo and I declined the most generous offer lol.

My laptop is too slow to game on and I cant lug the other one around as it is a full tower etc.

cant find any unsecured wireless in my area but will be actively looking everyday.

It sucks not looking forward to the inevitable BF3 withdraws they can be nasty.

u could try drivin around lookin, once u find one use a directional antenna. There are maps out there too that show unsecure wifi

You can game on 64K, I do it all the time. So it is doable.

Yout heads been 8 bit metric for too long. Standard dialup was 56k unless you on some weird shit or the worlds slowest ADSL. Anyone remember the 112k dual line modems?

Unfortunately yes Rain.

Hybrid you don't have to have the best that Comcast offers to game. I have TWC and do fine. Standard service in my area is 5MB Down and 1 MB up. I can play BF3 no problems and its only $30.00 a month.

On bobs note yeah comcast even offers 1.5 meg starter for 20 a month but might be an income limit in some areas. But they do have a few levels of service. I have no clue what our 25/4 is costing us but promotion ended in about 2004 lol. We started on 6/1 which is still decent.

I have DSL @ 6MB download .62MB upload for 39.99.
Don't forget to check with AT&T DSL they have 3.0mbs for 14.95 a month for one year and $38 a month after that. It's not great, but it would work.

Just make sure you don't sign a contract with a promo rate. Back in Rhode Island, I was very happy with Cox's 20/4 package for $40/month. It was also month-by-month, and the post-promo price wasn't much higher ($50/mo?).

See, I live in the middle of the desert(Kuwait) and we use internet from what is considered 4G in the states. How ever we are throttled back due to the U.S. Army Helicopters saying that when we are on the internet it effects the signals coming and going from thier aircraft.

We used to have the dual line ADSL, it was a huge step up from dial up and we couldn't get dsl in our area or cable. Eventually there was a wireless option in our area to the local water towers and that service was insanely fast. Bob I have the best service cable offers in my area and that's 10/1 which works but there is some real web browsing latency issues. Seems to play the game fine although I never have an observable ping in game...

Hey guys i am going to look into other providers like AT&T etc.

Cant do dsl tried that and the connection is worse then dial up Verizon couldent make it better but went with fios and that was great, That was back in 2008-2009.

I didn't have the greatest speeds with Comcast last i checked it was 6 down and I think 2 up. Was fine and i coiuld go lower without suffering lag.

Had AT&T in the past thier voip and that was fine until they took back the linksys router and switched it up with a cheap half duplex router. could'nt play battlefield on the connection after that.

I am going to start calling around seeing what deals are out there tomorrow.

That's cause it is half duplex, you can't transmit and recieve at the same time.

BF3 Bandwidth - 64 players will reach up to 40KB/s (320Kbps)

An average 20 minute Battlefield 3 sessions consumed the following:

Received data: 9.33MB
Sent data: 4.92MB

Total data: 14.2MB
