Can't load windows 7 on GF's new PC.

sounds silly but when i was going through my shit thinking it was mobo as i was swapping things in i ran into a similar issue and started switching which sata port on the board i was plugged in and it worked. still not sure why but thats all i got for this
 
Yeah I tried that as well. Irishian had me pop the mobo battery out and let it reset which I tried as well.
 
What SATA port on the motherboard is the DVD plugged into. I discovered recently that the new motherboards only allow older devices like DVD drives on ports 4&5 (5&6) or the last two. About drove me nuts on last box I built for a render machine.
 
The optical is plugged into SATA 0 or 1, and the HDD is in the other. I'll give that a try and edit this post w/ the result.
I tried it in 5, didnt work =[
