Wondering if anyone else as of late has had any problems with the game crashing. The last couple of days I've been getting seemingly random CTD (BF4 has stopped working..) and now today CTD with the audio loop. It's happening fairly predictably at the bottom of C flag when the tower comes down I've noticed. Running Win 8.1 with no problems up until now. I've tried a repair install on the game which I did yesterday - no joy. Removed game completely and did a fresh install today - still no joy. I'm running a i5 2500 (3.3Ghz) and 16gb DDR3 ram on a P8Z77-V LK. GPU is EVGA GTX 660 (3gb).

Nothing obvious seems out of sorts from what I can see.

Any feedback or suggestions would be awesome right about now.

Sounds like a couple of issues introduced with the last patch. There have been some maps-like TDM that have lost sound altogether in game and have the soundtrack loop endlessly and random crashes in all game modes. I don't think it's your system.

I used to get the audio loop with frozen screen in game all the time on Dawnbreaker. Got it other times on other servers. I haven't had it in a long time.
I suspect the looping is just a symptom of whats causing the crash. Obviously you can try updating drivers.

Oh, one thing I did that seemed to help was to uninstall the extra nvidia crap - 3d vision driver and the nvidia audio whatever.

Hoping it's due to the update and not in my end. Doc, I'll double check again but I've updated my drivers recently. I'm going to try your suggestion with the nvidia drivers.

Amen to that. I only download the driver and the physics....everything else they include can fuck right off.

Agreed. Only reason "Geforce Experience" is now allowed on my computer is because shadowplay is actually usable and useful.

Alright well, I rolled back my nvidia driver to 332.21 from the beta, see if that helps.

I always do complete clean uninstall of the old driver and installation of the new. Seems to minimize issues as well.

Have you tried turning your graphics all the way down and maybe turning sound off? I had some problems the other day with it crashing strangely but I just rebooted my system haven't had a problem since. Maybe your sound card has new drivers.

Mahja, I'll give that a try next. Done a complete fresh install of Nvidia with only required drivers - Played one round successfully. Will see how it goes.

Well. Todays update is complete shit. I had no problems the last 2 months before today. Now I have the sound loop crashing on lockers, and "battlefield 4 has stopped working" shit again.

Ok.. well, on one hand I'm glad to hear it's not just me, on the other hand that sucks. In the meantime I'm at the 3/4 mark of re-installing EVERYTHING fresh after a format. Wanted to reconfigure my HDD setup anyway.

Man fuck this game. I've had this issue all week. Did everything short of mailing a pile of crap to EA and DiCE. Just tried to run on the lockers server and can't move 3 meters without it bugging out and giving me a sound loop.

Edit: Finally played for more than 3 minutes on another server, but still cannot do Locker or Dawnbreaker. Not surprised. Sorry for raging but this is getting beyond old when old bugs come back after 'fixing the glitch.'
