Update: Rolled back the drivers to 331.82, from January and it seems to be working. Just installed the driver and the PhysX package. Haven't gotten that sound loop crash.

Edit: Wrong driver version for nVidia

Remove all overclocking and see if it helps.

At this point it's not really an overclocking issue. The thread on Battlelog for the sound loop crash has grown by leaps and bounds within the last 48 hours or so, and for most people, it's only affecting maps like Operation Locker and Dawnbreaker. Just tested it this morning. Can't play more than 1 min (if I'm lucky) without crashing. Just did our infantry only map server and was able to play a full round without crashing at all. With overclocking, you would see system instability on all programs, not just BF4 specific. I've played both stock ant overclocked to 4.5 with the same results. Heck, if I still had my AMD 6990, i would still have this issue.

Overall, I have a distinct feeling that, if this doesn't get looked into or resolved (again) I won't be able to participate with my brethren in Metro 2.0. And if (when) that happens, I'm considering hanging up my guns for sure.

32 or 64 bit???

I've run into it on both. I ended up playing a full round yesterday without issues. Keep in mind I did a full wipe of my entire system prior to that round. I won't be able to do much until Monday as I'm working. So I'll see Monday if it seems stable again. Have my doubts considering all the other folks experiencing the same issue.

As for sound quality settings I'll look into that too if need be. If that's the case that's just crap. Shouldn't have to be tweaking windows sound quality to get a game running at this stage of the game.

Fuck this game is like a bad drug. High is great, coming down sucks. Costs too much for the product. It's full of shit that's bad for you and addicting but you can't help yourself and keep coming back for your next fucking fix. #BF4JunkieRage

If you are using a sound card, and you have on-board motherboard sound, try the on-board system. Or visa-versa.
Do you have more that one audio driver loaded?

Looks like enabling V-Sync is working for me... makes no sense but i have it set to 75Hz and that seems to do the trick. doing more testing so i'll have an update in a sec

I've spent a few hours on metro.. no CTD. Can't pin down exactly what I did to fix it, if anything at all. But here's a list

1) - Complete format of system
2) - Did NOT install my Realtek drivers (heard something somewhere about those drivers being possibly the problem)
3) - Turned on Vsync in game

I did update my Nvidia drivers back to the latest beta to see if that may have been a cause, but as I said, so far so good. Played a few hours without a hiccup.
