Microsoft, Nvidia, and AMD have all been united in delivering the DirectX 12 hype. We’ve seen isolated demos and various performance boost claims when games move from DX11 to DX12. But this week Microsoft handed the tech press3DMark’s new Farandole benchmark, which measures draw calls per second. They also equipped us with Windows 10 Technical Preview (Build 10041) and in-development DirectX 12 drivers for Nvidia, AMD, and Intel INTC -0.13% hardware. Then they said “go nuts.”
Suffice to say, Microsoft has not been blowing smoke.
