I really want to build a new system from scratch but I don't think its in the cards, I just recently bought a condo so I am balancing that out.

However.

I did just purchase windows 8.1 and a 120gb SSD so that will be going in at some point in the near future.

Would like to see how much the SSD helps with load times and how 8.1 helps with FPS.

With fps for the SSD, maybe a few but not much. As for loading times with a SSD=priceless :) It literally is about 4 to 5 times faster. Let's put it this way, between rounds you're waiting on the server and when joining for the first time...you're waiting on the connection to whatever server you're joining, not your SSD.

Also, BF4 plays very well on Win 8.1 so I think that will help too. You'll probably see 10-15 fps, on average, faster just by using that OS.

I would also highly recommend you google how to bypass the stupid Win 8.1 required login. I also have a bypass of Metro set up so it takes me straight to Desktop when starting the machine and loading Win 8.1

In 8.1 thats an official checkbox I hope your not still using hacks to get that to work :p

I haven't ditched the Microsoft account login for a local account yet myself.
