Walmart has an eMachines laptop for $198. I am going to get in line early and get it. It has a far superior set of specs than my current lappy (Toshiba Tecra A3-S611). My lappy currently sports a 1.2ghz Pentium M processor with 1gb/256mb Dimms and a 100gb IDE HDD. While this machine has a 1.8ghz AMD processor and 2gb of DDR2 Ram, 160gb SATA drive, DX10 compatible HD 3200 graphics card with up to 1.9gb of shared memory. Also has windows 7 Home premium. It also has a number pad for easy entering of numbers. The keyboard doesn't look over crowded, it is about the same as mine. However the addition of a full num pad is great as I tend to enter a lot of numbers.
The drawbacks:
Not a dual core.
Rather small HDD given today's standards.
Only 2gb Ram with an X64 system.
No webcam. No fingerprint reader.
Lack of HDMI port and only 2 USB ports.
No bluetooth support included.
