FPS spikes

Hey not sure what's happened but recently I have been having some brutal fps spikes I usually run on all high and get around 80 fps but recently I have been dropping to 25fps in some intense scenarios. I have recently adjusted my screen resolution and format, turned textures onto medium and this has helped a bit but its still not how it used to be. I have a GTX 570 and have never had any trouble running the game in the past, this is just recently that I have been dealing with these spikes and it sucks!

if anyone has any suggestions or need to know some more specs about my rig let me know, anything will help im sure

Clearly not the most "tech" guy myself but I got 4GB ram, quad I7 processor GTX570 like I said.

What temps is your GPU running at when this happens? Try setting the fan speed from automatic to 60% or something.
Also, are you on the latest driver from nvidia? I was recently having fps drop issues with my 560ti and it was due to a driver.

actually I just downloaded the new driver after I posted and it might have helped a bit, we'll see
