I normally laugh at driver update posts but this should be a good one. We had yet to get a 300 series driver legitimately designed to work with previous cards.

Plenty of 500 series performance improvements many of them for SLI configurations.

Driver level FXAA support for games that don't have it. Adaptive vsync which was a 600 series launch feature all that ported down officially now.

so should I update my drivers?

I would give it a shot. I updated mine no problems so far. The feature here gained to older cards like the 580 etc is the Adaptive Vsync. It only has vsync on when going over 60 fps when it drops below it, it turns vsync off. This + Triple buffering should make for a good experience while eliminating screen tearing. The evga guys were pretty happy in their own testing of it. Not sure if the feature interests you.

But features aside there is some improvement to be gained in some recent titles.
