Glock modifying

Joe just keep your pistol in the sleeper, that's what I did when I was OTR. Kept it under my pillow, I was comfortable stopping anywhere for the night...
I have an old .38 special throwaway for the just in cases in life and a Kimber custom classic stainless 1911. The Kimber is a great pistol, super tight slide especially for a .45.

@ rails... ok was looking for something in 40 s & w. 2 in. Barrel. I have never bought a semi auto though as they were not practical for what i needed at the time. Now that i am going to warehouse districts and or bad parts of the country all the time, a .357 would work but too much power...and well the 44 mag is great just not for self defence ( 6 in barrel with a 2.5x scope) i know everyone likes glock but i would like options.

Do you want a steel frame or plastic frame? Revolver or semi? 9mm, .40 short&weak, 10mm, .357 Sig, .45 gap or .45 acp? Single stack or double stack mags? Concealable (reasonably) or bedroom, car or truck sized? Single or double action?

@Iguanidon The best thing you can do to determine what is best for you is to visit a shop, or even better a range, that rents guns so you can heft and shoot varying pistols. I prefer the "this is my safety(Blackhawk Down)" style of Glock because it makes for a brilliant, reflexive point-and-shoot sidearm. I have a 1911 case queen and a Beretta 92 to fill the full size roles and although wonderful firearms, I don't have the opportunity to practice enough "safety off" drills to feel comfortable carrying one. Also, they are freaking heavy. For something small, try out a .380 or 9mm. There are many options out there, just have to go see which points(quick point of aim on target, no aiming to correct) and fits most naturally.

Yes we still have guns. The further south the more guns they have haha. I carry the 23 for work and the G30 sleep time. Kahr Pm9 all black in the pants holster for when not at work

You bet! The next one I buy will be the G30.

I would be in the market in the future for something compact and light... any reccomendations? Neither one of my revolvers are either.

G23 all the way! You got to check it out. I carry it in a holster in the small oft back.

You should check out the Taurus I was talking about. PT709 Slim is the 9mm and PT740 Slim is 40SW. 9mm shoots nice and soft, carry Hornady Critical Defense 115gr. I NEVER thought I'd sing praises about a Taurus of all brands, but I have over 800 rounds down the tube and not a single failure (feed, eject, etc) and although it's small, I can grip it extremely well. I have the bi-tone one with two mags - think it was $349 at my local gun shop. Only downside is mags seem to be tough to find after the 2012/2013 gun scare. ~.~

I do carry my Glocks, have regularly carried an HK USP40C, Sig P220 Carry w/ SAS and Sig 1911 Platinum Elite. The Taurus is just where I ended up (at least for now =P)
