What the fuck is "game-changing" about that card? It's just the usual "2 cards slapped together" shit that nvidia does almost at every generation.

The fact that it's $1200 and that if you buy it your wife will leave you for wasting a mortgage payment. That is "game changing".
 
It changes your game from 110 fps to 125 fps. Game changing.
 
I've seen a few bench marks - and the resolution was with 3 monitors - plays bf3 really well with 3 monitor setup - sick for a single card - it uses less power than the 680 and stays real cool...Ill have to look for that benchmark test

could not find the exact one - but here is a link with the 690 benchmark test on bf3 and crysis -see for urself - of course drivers make a diffrence but yea check it out anyways lol.

If you have 1 monitor its not worth it - =P
 
Incorrect on the Watt usage, Maximumpc.com found that is uses upwards of 300+ Watts comapres to the 200 + watts of a single 680. for $1200, you can buy 2 680's and higher performance from those 2 cards in SLI. Nvidia failed at putting hype on a card that does nothing but drain the wallet.

Caveats? There are still some worries beyond the price tag, as the twin Radeon cards are as much as three times faster at general-purpose computing tasks than the latest and greatest GeForce. PC Perspective likewise warns that fans of joining three displays together for some 3D Vision Surround action will still take a big frame rate hit when they put the 3D glasses on. Still, the GTX 690 looks to be tops if you're looking to get the fastest single-card gaming on Earth, and as Legit Reviews adds, that trivalent chromium-plated aluminum makes it one of the "better looking" cards, to boot.

Yes, I need to correct my statement, it uses less power the 2x 7970 or 680's. I barely convinced myself to shell out $500 for the 680. If I already owned a 580 or 590 for that matter, I wouldn't have bought it. Just like getting the 3770k, if I owned a 2700k, no deal.
