So my children each have one of my old rigs. Well the Core 2 Duo 6750 my sons have been using had the PSU short, so I took the opportunity to send an upgrade down the line beginning with me. So in the spirit of Sixer and Red here are a couple of pics.

I am using my old case and ssds, hd, Xonar Xense sound card, and 7970 w/ Gigabyte triple fans. I only got 8gb of ram for now but will add another 8 shortly. The cooler is a Corsair 80i; my rig sits in the basement where it never gets beyond 70 degrees.

It runs quiet and cool; idle CPU is 26 degrees with 44 while playing BF3

And this is what my daughter ended up with. An i7 920 on a Gigabyte x58 platform and an old 5870. After all, doesn't every 11 year old need a gaming rig, albeit an older one?

I know the cables aren't as neat as Sixer's, but I need better management on the back side of the case for it to look really sexy and clean. That and my kids used all the tie wraps.

Nice Chuck! I took all my old rig apart today and installed into a little HAF 912 with a couple of extra fans. All the new items are install in the 922 but still waiting on the video card and OS from California. I at least booted into the bios this evening and enabled the XMP for the memory. Kind of nice having the ability to boot off the cpu and having video without on board or card.

Very nice Chuck. Looking good and can't wait to see the numbers of how it does.

Also Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's out there.
