HD DVR Recording

I got Direct TV recently, I got a lot of cool movies that I want to transfer from my HDDVR to my computer. Anyone know a way to do this. I would just download them directly but don't want to get popped, and some one them are old classics re mastered in HD and not available to download.

first, you have not provided enough info for any one person to give you the answer to fit your needs.
one what type and model number HDDVR do you have would be the big question.

in some cases it cant be done. in most cases the unit will have a usb or firewire port that you can use to get stuff off the unit. in some cases it may be more complicated then you will want it to be. another option would be to record them to a dvd r recording units just like a dvd player. then you can move them to a computer by converting them to mpg4 or xvid. another way would be to add a tv controler card to the pc and record them at that point you do not need a hddvr.

you best answer will be found using google and type of hddvr you have.
