So.. My Gigabyte 5850 OC (GIGABYTE GV-R585OC-1GD Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card w/ ATI Eyefinity - Newegg.com) has gone to the GPU graveyard. Luckily, I had a 8800 GT to fill in until I can get another card.. which a member here as offered me: a XFX 6970.

Now, the 5850 needed two 6 pin connectors to power and the 6970 requires a 6 pin and a 8 pin.

This is my power supply: Apevia ATX-JV 650W - APEVIA JAVA ATX-JV650W 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply - Newegg.com - Is this power supply enough to handle the 6970 plus all my other stuff?

Recommendations?

Thanks for reading:

Kubla, how do you find these pictures.. LOL!

That sucks the 6970 especially in overclocked forms is just on or just above the rated limited for dual 6 pin which is 150 watts. Honestly though 8 pin connectors are horseshit. They add 2 small guage grounds and then call for beefing up the 12+ lines. If your PSU has 8 pin spec wiring you could run an adapter just fine. If its 6 pin spec gauge then yeah not worth the risk.

A few bucks more you can get a modular corsair from Microcenter but its in store only so thats a bust.
