i am getting two 770's sc and idk what ones to get lol
im lost when it comes to computer stuff still learning lol.

The fact that you have "SC" in there sounds like you already picked your brand and model. Super Clocked is an EVGA thing. Unless i have you wrong.

2 Choices for EVGA Superclocked appear to be between the reference cooler and their ACX cooler.

Get 1 780 instead. You'll probably be happier with it, and you'll save money too - mostly because of SLI issues, although from what I hear nvidia's nowhere near as bad as AMD's stuttering issues.

Also, don't pay money for "superclocked" etc., just look at the cooler and read reviews of the specific card. You can overclock any card, and usually the only thing that's "superclocked" about those cards (if not the cooler), is the label.

Now, if along with being "superclocked" it has a non-reference PCB/cooler, that's a different story. I have always bought "vanilla" cards from nvidia for years though, and they've all overclocked just fine.

On the over clocked note. Heat has got it right. You'll have to look around but some of the over clocked models are non reference designs with better voltage regulation and that combined with typically better binned chips may result in a better clocking card.

However stock over clocks aren't worth shit for performance gain. Anything that's not a reference cooler aka the big plastic sleeve with a turbine in the end will usually run cooler and make less noise. Better cooling might be a priority especially if you do want to mess with over clocking.

SLI is up to you but 1 780 for sure unless your running triple monitor for gaming.

i cant wait! I am going to go with a 780, Just wondering if the price is going to come down a tad over the next few months

Im middling it again just like 2 years ago 770 and settle for 45 fps in BF4 lol.

Id probably get myself another MSI, i liked the TF3 coolers performance. They kinda went odd this time around. Not happy about the red on this design either - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127741
Might actually go EVGA for shits and giggles - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130919

bah, i thought about middling this machine, .but after doing some research and scoping some benchmarks, gpu is one component I have decided not to skimp on. If I used multiple monitors, I would probably invest in a pair of 770s, but I have never been a fan of multiple viewing devices....fuck I cant even stand 3D shits! something a truancy officer told me back in high school: "Quality over quantity!" Though in the computer world, it seems as though you can always obtain both if yer currency stash is big enough!

I have looked into the 2011 sets, but I just do not know enough of computers to invest in something I may not understand its true potential!

I'll be in the market myself in a couple of paychecks. I'm mostly waiting to see if someone comes out with a non-reference PCB that you can increase the shit out of the voltage to the chip on. I'd like to have a decent reason to actually put a 780 in my loop in addition to running it at 40C instead of 80... Galaxy was actually demoing some card a couple weeks ago with a white PCB that set some kind of world record on LN2 if I remember correctly. Caught my attention... not retail yet though.

As far as price, it might fall a bit, but don't count on it. Unfortunately, there is no competition to the 780 right now from AMD in that segment (780/Titan), so they can just hold that price for quite a while...

yea, amd is probably going to wait towards the holiday season to drop its goodies. I am a fan of AMD, but some FPS and stability benchmarks with the new line of geforce gpus had me questioning to stay with them.
Anywho, gpu is the heart of gaming rigs, and if yer gunna build a stout machine, go big or go home...budget or not

Thanks I'm getting the 780 now and I don't over clock but I'm gonna get a sli with any card I'm getting. Loli am getting a huge case and wanna make use of the space lol. I'll just save more for the two 780's. I'm getting the Asus ones. I have a Asus mb so why not stay with the brand.

i am not an avid overclocker(yet, have plenty of time over here to research cpu tweaking and many brains in the clan to pick), but gpus are an easy place to start. from what ive tinkered with, it is safer to start with gpu than cpu...yer game will crash when youve tweaked a black cunt hair too far!

2 780s is kind of an overkill for anything but a few very isolated cases like Metro 2033 and Crysis. That, or playing games at least on 5760x1080 with 4xAA or more... I think you'll be quite content with just 1.

I know it's over kill. Why not go to the extreme with in reason?

i dont know about you, but 12-13oo dollars "is" extreme to me. Like Heat said, its your money, but if you ARE going to rock dual 780s, i hope you are rocking multiple monitors!
