unless yer occifer, shouldnt you get clothing allowance too?
seems like that 2k should def be worth a tax write off!

This is the Corps not the army or national guard. Hell the only way we got new stuff was because the army abandoned it.

unless you are active duty or spec ops (nat grd), you are getting 10 year old hand me downs. when I qualified with rifle beginning of year, I didnt have an "assigned" weapon, had to use another lefties weapon(his rear sight was tweaked so bad I had to break out my electrical tape to keep it straight). A couple months ago(my "newly assigned" weapon), my rear sight post was so rusty I had to use my Gerber to pry it in the UP position (tried to get a new one before I left supply, told them the weapon was deadline.... but it's national guard , "Deal with it." was the response). Not only that, the windage knob was so fubar, I couldnt get a zero..I was grouped, but every time I made the appropriate adjustment, I grouped 3 clicks on either side of the silouhette(going from 3 to 1 clicks) and still same shot groups on either side of silhoutte no matter my adjustments. Bah. Squeeked by. Couldn't engage accurately over 200m. Boooooo!
