Alright guys, just wanting some opinions here.
I currently have a Sandy Bridge i7 2600k in my current build. I have it overclocked to 4ghz (I've had it at 4.7 stable).
Right now the Ivy Bridge 3570k's are really cheap (169.00 @ microcenter).
My plan in the fall is to be running my two 7950's in crossfire.
Should I upgrade CPU now or wait? Am I really going to see any real performance difference in BF4 (most performance heavy game I plan on running atm)?
I don't care about having the latest and greatest, I just want to make sure I keep up with the times. I don't want to pay fullprice for haswell when they come out.
Of course, if I upgrade now I have to/should upgrade my MOBO. Well, right now I am running a Asus Sabertooth which I love.
I don't want to spend another 230 in addition to upgrading the CPU. If I remember correctly, I CAN technically run the Ivy Bridge on my current MOBO (with bios upgrade) but will I see any real performance increase if I go that route? I know I don't care about PCI-E 3.0.
Kind of a brain vomit, so my apologies.
Any thoughts?
