Let loose the hounds of liberalism! Senate seeking to limit caffeine in energy drink

Oh chuck telling a Republican to not hate on liberals is like trying to get a republican to apply cream liberally to the affected area. Its just not part of their beliefs jk

I pay $365 bucks a month for health insurance for me and my family. The first doctor visit of the year costs me $250 bucks!!! Fucking seriously! I'm still behind in doctor bills and still paying $360 for coverage. I'm thinking about moving to Canada. Sick of this country.

Damn man. That is fucking brutal. I live in Canada and pay 60$ a month for medical. And another 60 for extended medical/dental.

Rain he is hating on Liberals, not liberalism. Shit, some of the people up here like Durbin are really annoying with their holier than thou, but unfortunately the Republican party is struggling with its own holier than thou right now which saddens me because the traditional Republican party is my home. And I don't think Mac would be insulted when I say he is not a mainstream Republican right now.

Yup, that didn't include my dental. I pay $30/month for dental so I'm around $400 per month. Told my stay at home wife its time to look for a job..lol..Back when we got together, health insurance was only about $100 per month and gas prices were around $1.80.

Not at all, I wouldn't consider myself a mainstream Republican by any means. I do think the mainstream of the party is moving in my direction though, as more of the traditional wing is replaced by new blood. I think social issues continue to be less and less important with the party as the new generation takes over.

Redneck I was paying $1000/mo. for my insurance when I was a Teamster, it was a great racket for the union. They were smart enough to demand exemptions from Obamacare so their racket will survive intact. I would take GT's non-union insurance in a heartbeat over the crap I was paying the Teamsters out the ass for.

Ahh, that is why being in demand is nice. One of the reasons we ended up with Abbott instead of some others was the benefits package. We pay a couple hundred per month for 5 people and it includes health, dental, and vision.

Wow. I used to be in the teamsters union years ago for Sysco food services. I cant imagine paying that much. I guess 360 a month is not that bad.

The county I worked for in Ga was nice, $56 a month for health and dental, vision was $5.00 more a month and they covered 90% and out of pocket max per year was $1000.00 Benefits are a major thing folks look for these days. Hell, for me alone this year that's worth and extra 80 or 90k right now considering my eye surgery and then the elbow and about a week in the hospital.

Benefits are a big part of choosing a job, which is yet another reason the government should keep its nose out of our business.
PS Chuck,
They want to investigate the combinations of caffeine and other stimulants but they also want to specifically limit the amount of caffeine to the 70mg limit soft drinks are held to.

Yeah but the FDA has already scoffed at that before, and by FDA I mean the civil servant side of the FDA that are medical people that base their opinions on medical research, and those people could give a shit less about Dick Durbin. I think the interactions are what will come of this (if anything), and that is how it is supposed to work. Durbin fires off with something that may contain something sensible but goes overboard, the dissenting groups scoffs, and compromise pops up only if the dissenting group chooses to engage at all. That is the job of the dissenting/minority party, to pull legislation towards them, and that protects from tyranny of the majority. And that is my problem right now -- too many people have forgotton how a democratic legislative process works.

Sheesh...its not like energy drinks today were like the original coca-cola!
