Lizard Squad was DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacking Xbox & Sony (not sure why they don't mention EA/Origin...I guess it's understood)

Finest Squad claimed it stopped Lizard Squad

Anonymous Protection was claiming Finest Squad and Lizard Squad were the same entity
*Anonymous Hacktivists got in the mix when Lizard Squad messed with Tor, a program for people around the world to use to communicate with anonymity

Kim Dotcom gave Lizard Squad a huge incentive on Christmas day for them to stop DDoS attacks

Today they were all in an interview, dun dun dun!!!!!!

Super, nerd publicity. I heard Lizard Squad was responsible but sometimes that's hard to substantiate. Didn't know they were stupid enough to fuck with TOR, that's a great way to get a LOT of people who know how to fuck with you to fuck with you.
 
What I didn't hear in that 15 minute snoozeathon was a reason why they attacked PSN and XBOX, how is that not the lead? And Lizard Squad can't be considered anything short of criminal since they essentially took the networks hostage until Kim.com gave them $300,000 worth of encrypted cloud storage which I'm sure they will use for good....
 
They originally attacked "for the lulz" but later said it was to bring it to the attention of Sony, Microsoft, and the gaming community how little $ is put on the hardware and IT security to handle DDoS attacks.

EA servers could definitely be better. The 30 Hz tick rate I read about in BF4 is wack, pitiful, and straight out just cutting costs considering it's a "nextgen" game with much more data to upload/download between server and client than an FPS like Counter Strike: Source which reportedly has up to 128 Hz tick rates.

Kim Dotcom reportedly did some hacking in the 90s and seems to have gotten away with things when I read he's had suspended prison sentences (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Dotcom)

I'm sure PSN & Xbox will reimburse Kim and maybe even give him more $. I'm wondering if BF4 will be online all day tomorrow, according to this interview it will.
 
If they did it for the lulz or to bring it to the attention they wouldn't have accepted a ransom.
