I'm looking for a tablet and since I have an android phone, I would like to stay on the same platform. My GF has an ipad so if I feel the desire to use a Mac, there is that. Maybe some day I can convince work to get me a windows tablet to carry around so I can do things like account unlocks and resets with ease while on the floor. Back on topic, I'm interested in an android tablet. I would end up using it mostly for watching Netflix or playing Hearthstone. In bed or next to the tv I'll have a charger but battery life is something I'd like to get more than 1 hour of juice out of. Obviously cheap is awesome (yay not spending all my money) but $300 is probably my current cap at the moment.

Best Buy currently has the Tab Pro 8.4 on sale, and that's the starting point I really have. My phone is Samsung so I'm not afraid to use their products, but there's a lot of other options out there (as well as newer than 1.5 years old). Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Would the Tab Pro be a good deal or should I be looking for something else even if it costs a little more? Thanks guys!

I LOVE my Kindle Fire HD. Pretty much does all of what an ipad can and more. Plus it is an Android OS. Battery life is really good. I can play on it for 5-6 hours of constant use in a single charge. And the standby time is excellent. I use it for Netflix and other such things. Alot of reading too. Best of all is the price. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BWYQ9YE/ref=ods_fs_ft

If you have any more questions, hit me up on teamspeak. I'll gladly help ya.

I know it's a cheaper tablet (kindle) but with the focus on amazon, I wasn't sure how that compared to others like Samsung and Nexus

Like anything it's all a matter of opinion and what you like. I did some pretty extensive research on mine. Plus my father already had one so i was able to try it out. And my GF has an ipad as well. (I had an iphone for years so i kinda knew anyway.)

I have the shield tablet, it is at the top of your price range but I think it's the best bang for your buck, good processer, good screen, comes with a stylus, and because it's near stock Android it updates really quick to new releases. Just make sure your battery doesn't explode. Which reminds me I gotta send mine back and get a new one.

I'm getting on well with my Shield. The screen's great and the LTE connection is really handy to have out and about. It can fit in a jacket pocket as well. Just get the case along with it.

I personally have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. Good tablet, decent battery life as well.
