So, Newegg has some promotions going today with a MSI GTX 970 Gaming Edition Lite Edition for $299. I have a standard MSI GTX970 Gaming and was thinking of buying the LE to SLI.

I know the 2 cards will work together since both have same VRAM, chipset, ect. But am unsure of the performance gains. I have a 27in 1440p monitor atm, can max out almost all games at 1440p with 50ish + FPS, with the exception of Titanfall and a few others.

Not quite sure what gains are to be had here if I get the card.

I like this site for reviewing GPUs along with GPUBoss.com
Judging from the testing you can expect a ~40FPS increase over single.

I would suggest saving money for a more powerful single gpu. You could sell that one, or use it for Physx games.

I agree with Maliksy on upgrading. SLI and dedicated phsyx aren't worth it unless doing a three monitor setup for gaming
