And I will toss an optical drive in there. Cheap ones for 20 bucks.

Still deciding what to get for my hard drives.
Probably one SSD and one sata.

GPU probably the AMD7970.

I already have kingston hyper X 8GB

Thoughts?

And who here uses windows 8?

I know it gave me a stupid database error each time, i guess it did post.

I use windows 8 for my laptop. Personally Fast, if you don't have a touchscreen monitor I'd stick with 7.

Not sure you want to go with a no name power supply. Going with a brand name PSU is bad enough. Rosewill (Newegg brand) Fortress power supplies are made by ATNG which is a major supplier but they make no power supplies for any brands I am familiar with.

windows 8 will make you want to punch a baby in the face for the first couple weeks. Eventually you'll figure everything out or get classic shell and it will be fine.

As long as you put Windows 8 on a custom machine. If you buy an OEM 8 machine at some point you will commit murder. It never gets better. You have to boot into windows BEFORE you can enter the UEFI. Apparently they thought that was a GREAT idea.

My father in law has that Mobo and there has been no issue with it.
Case - wise is really personal preference. I am not sure I would personally go with the Thor simply because it's a couple of year old now and I'm sure there is better out there for the same price.
Would have to agree with Rain on the PSU, I've heard plenty of horror stories from Rosewill PSU's.

Have you checked out NCIX.com? better prices on lots of things :)

Not sure if the item number will be the same on the .ca site or not, but here is it on the .com site: Rosewill THOR V2 Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case, support up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, come with Four Fans - 1 x Front Red LED 230mm Fan, 1 x Top 230mm Fan, 1 x Side 230mm Fan, 1 x Rear 140mm Fan-Retail - Newegg.com

Also, I want to say that I do own several Rosewill products now and have nothing but good to say (including a PSU and mechanical keyboard.) I've only had the power supply for a couple months now but runs really quiet and seems to keep itself nice and cool - haven't had any issue thus far.

well there goes the neighborhood I am officially dumb. :)

Thanks
