My frankenstein HK417 Designated Marksman Rifle (Graphic Design)

I needed a gun for something I am making so i whipped this up. Aimed for a designated marksman type of weapon. I wanted an M4 for the image but when i started the design i decided to go with a 7.62 system.

Its an HK417 receiver with the SSR-25 stock that has the pop up cheek rest and monopod. Extended HK417 rail system around whats actually an SR25 16 inch barrel. Suppressor is another HK417 piece as well as a modified front sight to fit in front of the suppressor. Shortened HK417 magazine to 10 rounds to accommodate prone sniping. Its a lot like the MK11/SR25 system.

I threw the rail guards on for weapon handling but my father thinks it looks cooler without it.
 
Dunno if anyone remembers this. But now that they have the M417 in BF3 I had to bump it. When i found out about the M417 I knew I was gonna love it. I just unlocked it and then killed like 15 people with it in Metro and I LOVE THIS WEAPON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely like it better than the MK11 in BF3, replacing the SKS for walk around use. The older SKS 45 being a weapon I have actually used before.
 
Make use of those rail guards. Not only does it keep the rails from being chipped, the rails get pretty hot when you're lettin loose. The guards will keep you from getting burned.
 
Looks good dude, I would definately stick with the polymer magazines as aluminum ones require too much maintenance if you are going to be shooting a lot.

I lol hard i lol hard. Thats a graphic i designed back in February. Originally did it for something TBG related. Lemme edit the old title, guess I really shout have made a new thread to profess my love for the M417 lol.

I only bring it up for my new found love of the M417 in BF3. As far as real guns we have a Springfield M1A Socom 2 to keep the entertainment going lol.
