I really like the Asus boards. I'm an AMD whore so I let the Intel guys recommend some stuff for you. $700.00 should be no problem upgrading. One question many will ask is if you live near a Micro Center. They have killer deals on CPU's.

Whitehorse yukon, the closest thing to a computer shop os Staples..... Gota order.

Tom's is so biased I don't bother reading their shit...but that's another story.

Anyway, I like the Asus and Gigabyte boards. I've never had a problem with either and they're both easy to overclock and stable as hell. Here's a good Asus one to get:

ASUS P8Z77-V Pro LGA1155 Z77 DDR3 SLI 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI SATA3 DisplayPort USB3.0 Motherboard $199.00

Gigabyte Sniper 3 M3 mATX LGA1155 Z77 DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 HDMI SLI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard $179.00 before rebate.

CPU: for a good price this one here: Intel Core i5 3570K Unlocked Quad Core Processor LGA1155 3.4GHZ Ivy Bridge 6MB Retail $219

For DDR3 it all comes down to price. You get a wee bit of speed in different applications depending on speed of the RAM but of course that is offset by cost. From what I see at NCIX a good middle of the road one is : Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9 Vengeance 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1866 CL9-10-9-27 Memory Kit $52.00

You can easily build a new system for the money you want, it just all depends on what you want in it. If you're looking for the most bang for the buck I'd definitely stick with the Intel socket 1155 cpu and motherboards. Corsair memory is always rock solid, G.Skill also but I like Corsair the best.

I literally just went through this 6 weeks ago. I went with this combination for about $675.

WHY THE FUCK CAN'T I GET PICTURES TO LOAD INTO THREADS ANYMORE?

If you're using Firefox pictures will only load if they are the first thing loaded at the upper left of the screen. Other pics can load if they're immediately below the next photo and there is no text...notice all my pics are first lately and the text is on the bottom? It works fine with IE, most of the time with Chrome, and this way with Firefox.

BTW, W@flz I'm always glad to help. And no matter what you upgrade to it will be worlds away from your gaming experience currently. The only other thing you might want to add is a Solid State Drive. As cplmac stated he just upgraded too so I'm sure he can tell you more about his experience with the upgrade and what a difference it's made for him but I do highly recommend an SSD. Games, the OS, applications just load so much faster than a traditional HDD it's not even funny. You can add in the cost of an SSD and still be within your budget too, which is really nice.

SSD is what everybody says: night and day. It's not too much of a stretch to put in a 256Gb SSD and that's ample space for the OS, half a dozen AAA games and plenty of space to record silky FRAPS videos. Hell, I've got a 128GB drive and BF3 maps load up in a few seconds. Helps get to the chopper quicker :)

I'm trying to link image locations and have had problems with it for months. The loading tool just doesn't work. We can teamview it Thursday Rain

The SSD is a huge difference. For comparison with FRAPS I run 55 fps in BF3 but when I record FRAPS to my traditional hard drive my fps drops to 15-20 fps and when I record to my SSD I get 35-45 fps.

Ok all said and done this is what i have coming.

Shit, you didn't get the ivy bridge heat issue memo? I posted it in here a few posts ago. Sixer got me squared away on that, talked me out of 3770 and into the Sandy 2700k.
