I've installed my SSD and Enabled all 6Gb/s slots on Motherboard and my computer finds the Drive in Device Manager but it does not show up as a selection on my Hard drives. In other words I can't access it.

Also I have ACHI sataSATA mode enabled in BIOS as recommended.

Could it be a firmware issue? As you can see from the picture I can only see my 128GB SSD and my other Hard drive.

First off, unplug your other HD. Try booting with just the SSD and see if you can access it.

What m/b company? I have a gigabyte and just had the same thing and had to change a bios setting. I forget which, but I can look later as long as no one starts throwing up again around here.

Just needs to be formatted probably.
click start, right click my computer. Then click "manage"
Go to "disk management". The drive should show up there. Format it NTFS. Should then show up.

Well you are right AmishBob but unfortunately you came a little late and I just unplugged my 128G SSD and booted with my Windows CD and formatted and partitioned my new SSD but now I can't find my P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 MB disk with my drivers on it because I paid this girl to clean up my house and she shoved everything into drawers and closets and boxes, so I am going to bed before I throw this thing out the back door and get some sleep.

Bummer. Let me know if you have any other questions. I've run into so many issues and problem solving stuff for builds.
Good Luck!

Shit, you can download all that bullshit, no need for the disk. Just go to the Manufacturer's web site, select your MB and download all the stuff you need. I usually find that easier to do than using the CDs anyway. Plus, you can look for bios updates while you're there. Sweet dreams fluffy nubbins.

Ok thanks all. I found the disk and I will visit the website too. I am reinstalling everything now. I am going to load BF3 on my spare 128Gb SSD and go from there. Thanks for all the help. Things are looking good so far just a little bump in the road. :)
