Hey guys, I'm trying to network my windows xp pro laptop to my windows 7 pc printer. I had this working before I reinstalled windows 7 but can't remember how I did it. My son needs to be able to print his work from the laptop to my printer that is hooked up to my pc.

No takers? I've searched google but still can't figure this shit out. Just tired of sharing my gaming rig with my kids so they can do there homework.

The machine that has the printer you need to enable printer sharing its under file and printer sharing somewhere. Both machines need the driver installed. On the machine without the printed go to control panel and add printer tell it its remote or network it'll ask for the PC and then the driver.

Been a long time but getting a 7 PC networked to older is can be a pain sometimes which is funny since networking 7 to 7 and newer is pie.

Just make sure they are both on the same workgroup name.

I've tried that with no avail! Think its time for a new laptop. Maybe the x86 drivers? Windows 7 is not showing that driver but I can't seem to find a site to dl it.
