bf3 2013-04-16 02-19-28-37.jpgI did crank up the fan on it but after a few hours in bf3 it goes like this:

As a warning I would not play on other servers just in case someones checking screenshots might get banned from other servers for no reason.

The matrix is definitly not the right game though. Have you blown out the PCI-E slot and checked the power cable etc? I mean kinda weird to burn up 2 cards but not impossible. Power issues can throw up problems easily. Drivers another thing to check and make sure no overclocking software is kicking in. But I have a feeling youve already covered this.

Check that the voltage is at its default setting, too.

What you see there is NOT GOOD.

I don't over clock, everything is stock. The ports should be clean. I did break the snap on the PCI (after the first card died) but it sits in there snug as it should. I don't think it was a power cable being loose.

TOnight i'll put the 580 back in and tighten things up. I reverted back to the older driver as well.

I believe somebody mentioned this already, but it's most likely the PCIE slot on your MB that card is pluggen into. Have you tried using a different PCIE slot?

I did, but maybe it was the power, so I didn't rule that out. I need to move some stuff to get it to the lower PCIe but that's where I'll try tonight (and then it sits right above the PSU)

What PSU are you using? If it's not the PCIE slot the next culprit would be the PSU...unless by some freak accident you've had 3 gpus go bad which is not bloody likely.

Amory... EXACT same problem here with my MSI GTX 560. It's driving me nuts. I can play for a couple of hours, sometimes days and then BOOM. That happens. Real bad artifacting. Happens with my settings OCed, stock, under clocked. Tried two different PCI slots as well. Everything else runs just fine - this only occurs playing BF3 for me??? I'll be following this thread for sure.

This might be a stupid question, but have you tried changing drivers. I often find the older ones work better.

I figured that out and installed the older version.
It started after a couple hours but went away if I switched maps or took a break.

I had that on my 580 last weekend. I had recently installed the latest Nvdia beta driver. I got rid of that and also found my hdmi cable from card loose. Fixed it and reverted to regular driver fixed my issues.
It appeared randomly in middle of game like this after I died.

I've had the same problem over the last month but it's only happened about 3-4 times. Different drivers and no OC on my 680 GTX. It's happened across different drivers as well. When it happened, restarting the game always fixes the issue.

99% hardware problem.

Try to isolate it to either the GPU or the mobo (by trying a different GPU/different slots/etc.)...

If this always happens after a while, it might be the card heating up or the memory throwing errors. By the scale of the corruption, it's pretty serious, i.e. the core if it's not the mobo. Usually core problems crash very quickly though. Are the artifacts moving and can you play for a while?

You can play for a bit but it degrades as you go till unplayable. I haven't tried a different slot so I'll give that a whirl. PSU has plenty for what I'm running @850.
