According to an industry report (rumor) by VideoCardz.com, NVIDIA will be releasing the flagship Maxell GTX 790 and a GTX TITAN Black edition in the first quarter 2014. They forecast release dates for both within the next two months. These are both very high end cards retailing at or just above $1,000.
The GTX 790 apparently is not designed to replace the GTX 780 Ti in terms of performance. That being said reports theorize that most gamers would vie for the 780 Ti for similar performance at a much better price. GeForce GTX 790 won’t feature full GK110 cores. Instead VideoCardz is expecting two 2496 CUDA-packed processors giving 4992 in total. What is also interesting is that GTX 790 will not have dual 384-bit interface, but 320. This will also mean it won’t have 2x 6GB memory, but 2x 5GB configuration instead, that’s 10GB in total. The reason why it will not have full configuration is that NVIDIA wants to keep the card at under 300W TDP. The GTX 790 will likely cost about $1,200.
The GTX TITAN Black Edition would pack the same GPU as the GTX 780 Ti, but the TITAN Black would have more CUDA cores. The GTX TITAN Black Edition is also forecasted to have 6GB memory. The TITAN Black would have 2880 CUDA cores and would likely cost $999.
