Supposedly at or under $500 and not the pocket busting $800 price tag we've seen recently. However, it's early yet and time will tell.

I'm not sure I'll upgrade since this is like the 680-780 changeover. The 680 was an improvement over the 580, but they released the 780 about 6 months, 8 months later, and the the 780TI right after that.

Should be interesting. I'm still fairly happy with my GTX 770, but there have been a couple non-multiplayer games where I wished I had the 4GB of RAM for cranking up some of the settings.

I'm still waiting for a GPU that can actually run a 4k monitor by itself instead of poor performance with 3 of them.

Yep, the last few cards they released raped wallets.

I think they kicked themselves in the balls with that pricing. Put it at $500 and a lot more people will buy it; $800 and you've just alienated and eliminated the majority of your potential buyers.

Still, they probably sold many of the 7xx TI series card and made good money off them.
I am happy about this news because I definitely need to upgrade my 480GTX card...and get a new monitor with the savings ha!

I probably wont be upgrading any components(other than say... some more storage space) any time soon. Unless I am just baffled by a new game that is due out in the next 3-5 years.
