Her current lap top is falling apart. Time for some brownie points, but need some guidance on business laptops/software. Any input would greatly be appreciated before I start looking..

I thought it was going to be something like this:

This made me snort lol But seriously snakebabies it depends on what she needs to run I would recommend staying away from brands like dell they use cheap components and their service sucks. I have had good luck with Toshiba, I cant really add anything else since I dont know what it really will be used for.

Lenovo makes some very good laptops but you'll spend about $500 for a lower end one. That said, it won't fall apart in a week or month or year.

ive heard asus is tops when it comes to laptops and tablets. I own neither so cant say its true I only use the Desktop. I got my mom an asus tablet and she loves the shit out of it

i Have an asus g750 gamer and its quality... but for her purposes of business can't go wrong with lenovo... i've bought my wife two now the first was back in like 2008-2009 and i only just replaced it 2 months ago. Their thinkpad lines are more geared to the business side... but this time i bought the wife a 15" flex 3 model... figured the hinges must be good since it can flip around to be a tablet... hinges tend to be a weak point on laptops in my experiences...was very reasonable around 650$ and had i5 with like 8gb ram... i yanked out the 5400rpm spin drive and replaced it with 500gb samsung evo 850 and this scoots along very nice...

not sure if it is still more of a discount or not than their regular website but you can check it out and see at this website... www.lenovo.com/friendsandfamily i used it way back in the day when i worked at UPS they gave us discounts and back then you needed a code but now i think you just have to know what to type to get to their discount site. so check it out and I'm sure just have to create a login when ordering and don't need a code anymore.

What programs is she running?

^^^ kay. Got it out of my system.

Want to try for as close to a TB of storage as possible(SSD or Hybrid if they are worth it). 8g ram, and a processor enough to run the fuck outta latest version of office. Something durable with a decent keyboard(none of that pad shit), a few USB ports..screen size not a big deal. At least 15".
I have had good luck with Toshiba,
I have had shit luck with with toshiba key boards in laptop :(.

Like I said, this is gunna be strictly a business machine(some media). spread sheets, data, powerpoint, pdf, java, emailing etc...will be used 4-6 hours a day 7 days a week kinda thing. One o youse has a brain with this kinda stuff in it! I know there is bare bones laptops you can get, would it be better to do it myself or pay?

God damn it...

I like MSI .. they give you a ton of hardware bang for your buck. The only problem is their laptops are bent on world domination and I'm not sure how that would go down in a business environment lol. They are easy to fix. My msi went off the roof of my Lexus at 35 mph (oopppss) . I bought all the parts on ebay and I put humpty dumpty back together for 200$. Looks brand new and works great!! Tell me what other laptop could survive a blast at 35mph and live to talk about it.
