Pretty awesome what you can do with an array of 300+ camera chips.

Very impressive stuff!
But say goodbye to any privacy. I bet it's far more capable then they are letting on.
Plus if they archive all their footage. They can go back in time in essence. And track every ones movements.
I can see this being a law enforcers wet dream :)

i can imagine some of these flying sideways over south korea...

Can't really tell if it's the video or the camera, but they could use some work on the lenses to clean up the shots more.

The only problem with this is weather. If it's not a clear day, I'm guessing the quality deteriorates pretty drastically, since it's vision. Maybe they also have IR and other modes though, but it doesn't seem like it since the chips are camera chips. You never know though...

Depends on what kind of IR you want. CCD/CMOS sensor's capture IR light all cameras use a low pass filter to filter it out and to help prevent moire as well. IR photography besides awesome is a good way to take pictures when light is relatively low. Basic night vision, actually how them cheapo CoD MW NV goggles work.

But no temperatures can't be measure until wavelengths past 900nm and regular camera sensor's are not sensitive in that range.
