First, I enjoy playing on your Op Lock server. I notice the tag line in the server listings in Battlelog says "No Restrictions". Well, that's not really true as you have, quite appropriately indicated that various ad hominum attacks will not be tolerated. Unfortunately, this requirement is necessary.

A week or so ago, I was shooting toward the US base with a DMR, hit someone and was kicked. OK, fine, even though it's hard to tell if someone is near the edge of the uncap is actually in it. When I rejoined the server not too much later I was in US uncap and was killed a couple of times by the same sniper who apparently wasn't kicked. Also, I was killed a couple of times by those little, annoying explosive-filled planes. Apparently, those folks weren't kicked either. I remarked about this in the chat box but received no comment. Maybe an admin wasn't online at the time. Having a rule is good, but it must be uniformly enforced whenever possible. As having been a server admin years ago, I realize this is a difficult and also, usually, thankless job. Nevertheless, it was annoying.

Finally, just a few minutes ago (maybe 20-30), I was disconnected from the Op Lock server and the little message in the red rectangle at the bottom of the Battlelog screen said I was disconnected because I was kicked from the server. At the time, I don't think I was committing any type of infraction; my ping is usually about 60-80. So, being kicked for no apparent reason is frustrating to say the least and I'd appreciate an explanation if possible. Thanks for your consideration of my remarks.

See you on the battlefield.

I will start with the last item first. If a member joins and you are the last one who joined the server it might auto kick you. Next, if you are attacked from the uncap, you may return fire. Feel free and kill them. Doesn't matter if it is from a ucav, sniper or mortar. If you initiate by attacking the uncap first, you may be warned, killed, or kicked. I hope that helps.

No restriction simply means all weapons allowed. Most locker server name will indicate if explosives are allowed or not. We allow everything.

Server name does not say "no rules" does it?. Our rules are posted on the battlelog server page and scrolling every 5 minutes. You may type !rules to display all our rules. Follow that and you should be fine.

At times battlelog will randomly kick players when players lose connection to the master server. It happens to all of us. If an admin kicks you it would have a specific message not generic one. Server also kicks for reserve slots. If you are not listed for a reserve slot you may get kicked with a a generic message

I'll wait to see if an admin who may have kicked you responds, but on it's face it doesn't sound like you were kicked by one of our admins the first time. Generally if you get kicked there will be a message with something specific, "you were kicked by admin" is the default Battlelog message whenever you are kicked by the server, the game, the internet or an act of God. Our admins typically will put a reason in there. As for shooting into the uncap our general rule is anyone shooting out is fair game but people not shooting out are off limits. I believe in our Locker server shooting into the uncap is actually allowed (I may actually be wrong about this but I think I'm right because it replaced our Metro server). We don't have a server tool that automatically kicks for shooting into the uncap so if you were kicked for that it would have to actually be by an admin. It might take a day or so for an admin who may have booted you to see this thread and respond so please be patient, but on the surface I think this was just a random disconnect. I checked with our admins who have been online for the past few hours, nobody kicked you. It actually looks like we had so many members on that you probably got kicked by the server to make room for an admin, it does that at random I believe. To recap, you just had a run of shit luck with the randomness of the internet, nobody is booting you or has any problem with your gameplay.

Took me so long to type that memoir that two others have already responded, basically what they said.

I can confirm the locker server has no restrictions on uncap rape. If you can push a team that far back, enjoy yourself. The !surrender option is available to the team getting whooped, but it's rarely used.

I doubt if I was the last one to join the server since I was on for 5-10 min. You never know but usually you get a message stating why you were kicked.
The rule relating to the uncap is a good one but why would someone be visible in the uncap and putting themselves at risk unless they were shooting out? Does this rule apply to specific players or to just anyone who shoots from the uncap because you can't always tell who it is. You can't always tell if you're being shot from the uncap. If you shoot at a specific player can any of the opposing players shoot at you or only the person you're shooting at? I ask because I'm not a particular good shot.

I know I'm sounding somewhat argumentative here but it seems like a rule which is difficult to administrate fairly.

Thanks for the explanation(s); yes, on the internet shit happens but I thought I'd inquire because it was a bit unusual.

Hope that we helped answer your concerns Bullet, glad that you enjoy the server. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help you.

Thanks for the terminology clarification. I realize you can't write a complete description of gameplay in the server description but since rules are restrictions, I at first thought there were no rules. I guess a somewhat honest mistake. As I'm usually at risk for dying during a round, I don't often look at the in-game chat box, as I'm busy trying to keep my head down. I've checked out the rules on this website so I shouldn't have any more problems with those.
