What parts would you all recommend me buying to run BF3 efficiently?

I'm looking to build a good, high-quality machine which can run some of the latest games a respectable detail and speed, so i need some advice :D

Thanks guys :)

BTW - I can get 99% of the parts at trade prices, since i live just down the road from a PC Warehouse which not only provides computer stores with parts, but sells them cheaper than those shops. :)

What's the budget?

Intel Core i7 2600K processor
Cooler Master Hyper 212+ heatsink
Asrock P67 Extreme4 motherboard
2x4GB DDR3-1600 CL9 RAM
XFX Radeon HD 6950-2GB graphics card
Seasonic X-760 (80 PLUS Gold) power supply
128GB SSD (Crucial RealSSD C300, Crucial M4, Intel 510, Corsair Performance 3, or OCZ Vertex 3)
2xSamsung Spinpoint F4 2TB hard drives
Lian-Li PC-9F, PC-7FN, or PC-A05NB chassis
Lian-Li HD-321 (3.5" to 2x2.5" bracket)

Well, simply because i've heard BF3 is releasing in November, it should be quite a substantial amount of cash i can blow on a new PC, i just don't want to be buying it early and then finding out i can't run BF3 at a respectable detail and speed. Depends on whether i can get myself a job or not, hopefully i can!! :D

What's your budget for the new PC?

As to a PC that can run it well, anything that can run BC2 well should work. They're using basically the same engine for BF3 that's in BC2.

That said, definitely get a quad core or better if you can afford it, at least 4gb RAM and GPU? There are a lot of options from the AMD 6850 on up and the Nvidia GTX 470 on up.

Don't forget, new products start getting introduced in the fall and prices drop, sales go on, etc. So it might not be a bad idea to wait.

Yeah that's what i was thinking. I have a nice case i bought, it's a Mars type case, looks bloody amazing, but it really needs to be used soon :P It's still in the box and everything :D But i think i'll save up for the next month, Pre-order BF3 and then begin saving for a PC. Using dad's atm as i have been for the past 4 months and he can be really angry sometimes :P Anyways thanks for the heads up Six :)

EDIT: The case:

No problem, I'm glad to help. It's always tough to decide when to upgrade because you want to do it now, but also wait for new stuff to come out in a few months. Anyway, good luck with the upgrades when you do them and post some pics of your new PC when it's done.

Will do thanks :D I'll try get pics of me building too, will be my first own-build unless i get a friend up to help, but i don't want to dish out pointless cash to people when i could do it myself :P
