redoing my rig and getting my old rig up at the same time. So I'll be gone for a bit. Also I have a new heat sink that doesn't cover the whole chip by a 1/8" all the way around. It's the 965 black and the heat sink (zerotherm FZ120) said it was good for AM3 but I'm feeling funny about it and don't want to burn up my chip. What should I do? Thanks guy's and yes I'll have pix's :)

I read a few reviews and no one mentioned that exact problem, but they have reviews on your Chip and Cooler with no problems. I would say its a non issue. The actual microchips are under that metal covering/casing anyways.

yeah the cip is only about quater inch squared you should be ok, but check your temps on idle you should be around 10-40 if your above 40 look into replacing it with a bulkier one. you can check your idle temps with freeware or your bios should have it intergrated
