Looking at building a new setup.. would like some advice. I am wanting to go with at least an ivy bridge but leaning torwards haswell... looking for mobo cooler and ram advice... will be moving to TX so water cooling will be a must. Iam still running 2 ati hd5970's so i will need something that can support crossfire.

If you're looking to run crossfire, the 1150 motherboards will only run 8x8 not 16x16. You might be better off with an X79 motherboard instead. You can never go wrong with Asus: ASUS Rampage IV Gene Intel Motherboard - Newegg.com

What size is your case? If you want to cool both video cards you'll need a 480 rad or a 360 and 120 to keep everything cool. This would work nicely but you'll still need to get water blocks for both video cards. Alphacool NexXxoS Cool Answer 480 DDC/XT - Kit - FrozenCPU.com or you could just get the parts and put together what you like. Just remember to have enough rad cooling, a good pump, tubing, compression fittings and water blocks.

In TX heat will be a concern so why not go for a water cooled 780 now when building instead of getting the blocks for the 5970's? That gets you into Haswell if you want and you don't have to worry about the crossfire hiccups that come up (especially temps down there). I love my new Haswell build and Asus m/b.

Yeah one thing about the 5970....it runs hotter than snot.. 70?c was not uncommon. The performance was worth it though... bf4 looks like it would strain them a little though. Not to mention with me moving to dallas it averages 30 to 40 ? hotter than where iam from... six will my existing case be good for cooling... i may end up just buying the parts at tigerdirect in dallas and take a trip to houston... not comfortable setting watercooling up. Also.. ram wise what do you reccomend?

I forget which case you have; though I'm sure I saw it recently. For the RAM, it depends on budget. If you're not worried about spending $180 grab 16gb of DDR 2400. There are some nice gains at that speed. If that cost is too steep, stick with the 2133-still good gains, but not like the 2400 and they cost a little less. My GTX 680 was running 78C on air cooling here in Houston. Under water with the CPU it never got above 40C, usually 36-37C. The 780 runs all day at 35C under water :)
