So I have a 1977 Honda express. Rebuilt the cab due to a no start and still nothing. So started ohming out the electrical system and it turns out the stator is bad. I can't find a new one anywhere only used ones that look like crap. I really don't want to junk it. There has to be something out there that people are doing to save these things. I find it hard to believe that they no longer make replacement parts for it.

Don't be surprised if you cant find new parts for a 40 years old scooter :D
Honda manufactures parts for end of line models only for 10 years further.
I have a 30 years old JAWA 350 turned into a Bobber. For uncommon parts, i had to get a manufacturer, who does reverse engineering on old parts for special order, and make a new one based on the original. Keeping up vintage bikes an expensive hobby.

Yeah that's what I'm finding out. I thought my 78 XS750S was bad. When I couldn't find a new second gear for it and some other parts.

But this little fucker is killing me. They want 150 bucks to rebuild it or 100 bucks off ebay for a used one. I can't win here.

I really don't have shit. You see what the other guys have in the group ......

You can't get half of the ignition coils for a 1985 Honda Shadow and somehow you find it hard to believe a 77 scooter isn't easier to get parts for? Weird expectations lol.
