I cant get Gerder in Riverwood to give me a quest, it just says talk to her and I did, but she does nothing for me.

did you try going down first, some time that works, but usually dont condone it, unless it a difficult situation. if you go down, shes got to give you something, its only fair.

What quest are you on? If you press J to view your journal you can look at the specifics of the quest sometimes that helps me when im confused.
