Sony's Ultimate Weapon Gaming headsets are as macho as the name suggests

According to Sony, your Ultimate Weapon when it comes to schooling fools on the FPS battlefield is a 3D surround sound headset. Just like its newly minted DR-GA500 above, what a coincidence! Coming with a separate box to process your computer's audio into a 7.1-channel surround sound environment, this mic-equipped set of cans is targeted squarely at gamers looking to optimize every last inch of their fragging experience. There's also a GA-200 model that makes do without the extra audio processing. Both variants share the super special "triple enfolding" padding design, which is intended to make the headgear comfortable for prolonged use. Prices and retail dates aren't yet available, but just to underline that gaming connection one extra time, Sony will be bundling a free copy of the latest Medal of Honor with these 'phones starting in mid-Octobe

I plan on checking them out when the are released, but wont if they are wireless. Tried a few different brands of wireless and was never happy with any of them.

Not a Sony fan. Not after my Walkman lit on fire while I was using it back in the day, singeing my favorite hoody.

I'm using the Razer Maelstrom headset. I love them!

I started of with the logitech head sets (two of them) but the mic kept on breaking. So I went out and bought the teknmotion pulsewave ( TekNmotion PulseWave Gaming Headphones ) for 70 bucks at the time and they hurt! The mic didn't work well at all but did have good sound. I dont know about 7.1 (bullshit;p) But the triton I have now do have true 5.1 and work great and I can wear them for 8 hours with glasses on and thay don't hurt my head which was a problem with all others.

The cyber accoustics ones were good...But I broke two pairs gettig snagged on stuff...

The 7.1 system used by the Maelstrom is wonderful. You turn it off and use just the normal headset mode and I'm like what the hell happened to the sound?? Such a major difference!! The sound quality is amazing too. I use them to watch movies on my system instead of using my t.v. and main stereo surround unless it's blue ray. I still don't have a blue ray player in my computer yet.
