Had to redo my OS (Thanks Face Book) and Don't know what to do about sound. Do I use the on board, HDMI out of the GPU or go back to sound blaster X-FI?

What about the sound comming out of the HDMI? Is it as good or better then the sound blaster?

As much time research & money as I put in to my computers when I build or purchase them sound cards are something I haven't bothered with too much in recent years. In the old days I always used a standalone card but I really don't see a need for a dedicated sound card now a days because with decent speakers or headsets the on board sound does just fine for me. Now when it comes to my home theater system that's another story.

Unless I am mistaken there is no sound from the HDMI that is video only Sid. I would also stick to the sound card. while onboard sound is ok ... people dont realize how much onboard sounds slows your gaming experience. In fact sometimes more than video does.
