my speakers keep crackling, its not the speakers must be something on the computer causing it, it just started happening the other night, i plugged my cell phone into the speakers and they work fine.. any body got any ideas? it happens randomly is loud, its not continues its like a static sound when u first plug them in. tired front and back ports.

edit- just tried with my cell phone again and its making the crackling for both my pc and cell phone guess my speakers are shot

I had this thing , not once, if you're running win 7, first try reinstalling audio drivers, if that doesnt work (as it didnt for me) , reinstall windows entirely. It's a really shitty bug.

Also, if it's for just one program (a game) , reinstalling the game after reinstalling the audio drivers might do the trick, if it's not for just one program, your windows has broken.

i just went from win 7 to win 8.1, it seems to be working now for some reason.. i dont under stand it, when i turn them on they crackle but i guess after a while that i had them on they start working?? so i guess just never turn off my speakers and it should work lol??

might also be an old wire from the speakers that can misalign easily

yea i did, still fucked, that kinda sucks speakers only lasted me about 2 years, i must of fucked it up by playing music just cranking them all the way all the time.. i found these Canada Computers | Speakers | Logitech Z623 (980-000402) -- 2.1 Speaker System - 200 Watts THX Certified (Retail Box) might go pick them up tomorrow.

if you have any other speakers lying around, try them before buying new ones, ask your friends if you dont have any, it might still be an OS issue

nah its def the speakers, they started to get cracklely/ static Wednesday night.. today i upgraded to win 8 so i doubt its a os related problem, also if it was os related the speakers should play music from my cell phone just fine like they used to.. i guess i just listen to music to loud when i drink lol.

you could try a setup like i have to be safe,

Audio sys -> TV

PC HDMI -> TV

Audio sys is set to 75% with it's own regulator
TV is in the bounds of the audio sys
PC is in the bounds of the TV, operating it with a nice little rotating knob on my keyboard.

More than likely a loose or dirty jack where you plug them in. It needs to be a pretty tight fit for a good connection. If over the years you kept plugging and unplugging the connector back in/out, I would say its wore out or loose. Dealt with similar scenarios lots of times. To test it twist or wiggle the connector a little bit and see if you can get it to make the noise.

nope twisting or wiggling the connector doesnt do any thing.. as i type right now its working fine

make sure your sound settings are not set to 100% for volume for all mixers -

let the speaker knob decide the volume

100% sure its the speakers, had it plugged into my ipod and its making the static noise, black friday is next week i guess ill pick up new speakers then.

edit- well looks like im not the only one who is having a problem with these speakers, looking at the reviews on new egg i actually lucked out and got a full year of use before they shit the bed. i had the corsair sp2200 i think i will never buy audio equipment from them again becasuse it seems like the speaker problems continue with there lattest speaker sp2500
